Yesterday our Under 15s took on some of the best in the region at the Girls Basketball Gala Day.
The girls played three games throughout the day. Wade narrowly lost (30-24) their first match to Yanco and redeemed themselves with a convincing victory against Temora (24-9). They then beat Leeton 30 – 20 in the final match of the day and wound up coming third overall in the comp.
“Led by our experienced players Abbey Farrell, Abby Stefanin and Dakota Wynn, our team played well together, positively lifting each other and encouraging each other,” recounts coach Jessy McRae, “The girls may have lacked experience, but their sheer competitiveness, positive sportsmanship and enjoyment of the games allowed them to win two of their three games.”
