Last week our Year 7s took part in a timeless Wade tradition... They earned their Bunsen burner license.
In order to earn the qualification, the class had to demonstrate their competence lighting the lab staple. They then got to work using the Bunsen burners for their first high school science experiment.
Students were required to set up a thermometer, gauze, tripod and a Bunsen burner to heat a beaker full of water. They then had to observe the time taken for the heat to change the temperature of the water.
Though it’s a simple use of the Bunsen burner, the class will move onto more complicated experiments through the term.
