Riley Harrison Designs and Builds His Own Bench

Year 10 Industrial Technology Timber student Riley Harrison has gone above and beyond over the past few months, designing and building his own outdoor bench.

Riley started researching the project late last year – compiling various photos and plans of different benches and incorporating aspects he liked of each piece into his own design. He then sourced his own Victorian ash at great expense to build the final product.

“It turned out really well,” exclaims Riley’s Industrial Technology Teacher Dennis Collis, “You’d definitely be proud to take that home.”

“He’ll now have to come up with another project,” Mr Collis adds, “Once his parent’s bank balance recovers from paying for the timber, that is.”
