The Annual Senior Rugby League Carnival in Dubbo once again brought together talent, teamwork, and great sportsmanship, and this year’s event did not disappoint.
Among the standout teams was the Riverina Clontarf squad. The team featured a number of Wade players who showcased their skill and determination across a highly competitive day of footy.
The Riverina boys came out firing, earning four solid wins in a row during the round games. Their unity on the field and relentless defence were key factors in their success, allowing them to dominate early in the carnival. Despite their strong performance however, the boys fell just short in the grand final against a tough Greater Sydney side, who edged them out in a hard-fought match.
The top performers of the day were rewarded with selection in the Clontarf NSW team, set to take on their QLD counterparts in a representative clash in Term 2. Wade was especially proud to see Kaiden Simpson earn a place on the state team. The selection is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of his consistent performance and leadership throughout the carnival.
The Dubbo carnival was not only a celebration of footy but also of the values that Clontarf promotes – teamwork, respect and opportunity. It was a memorable day for all involved and the Wade Clontarf Academy can hold their heads high.
