On 21 April, 22 April and 23 April, Tanner Cassidy and Aaron Dawson were away at Cronulla representing MRHS with the Riverina Reps Hockey Team.
From 21 April to 23 April, the boys pitched their skills against teams across the state at the Green Hills Hockey Complex in Kurnell. Over the week, the boys took on Sydney North, Sydney East, North West, Sydney West and Western.
Though the team had to overcome the tyranny of distance for training and were playing on turf and not their usual grass fields, they held their own. “There’s some crazy skills on those teams,” exclaimed Tanner, “But it was a lot of fun. There’s always strategies you pick up on when you go on those games.”
The boys were excited to make the trip to the city and spend some time with players from our cities. Both Aaron and Tanner have stayed in touch with some of their new friends on the team.
Congratulations, Tanner and Aaron! MRHS are thrilled to have two hockey players represent the school at a regional level.
