Ms Chong Helps Good Bunch Lunch

Good Bunch Lunch

Teacher Jenny Chong and students from the Clontarf Foundation prepared a traditional Cantonese stir fry for staff and students on Friday.

The hot meal was part of the Good Bunch Lunch initiative. The chefs got to take a period off to cook for their Clontarf peers. The only condition was that all the guests had to have a week of full attendance.

Ms Chong, who hails from Hong Kong, helped the Clontarf boys cook apricot chicken, a dish from her home country. Students had to chop and stir fry vegetables and meat, before finishing the dish in apricot nectar. The meal, which was served with spring rolls, was clearly a hit with students and teachers alike.

The Good Bunch Lunch is one of the many initiatives set up by the Clontarf Foundation to improve the education, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. Great work, Clontarf!
