Year 9 English Explore Persuasive Writing

Year 9 English have been exploring persuasive writing through multimodal texts this over the past few weeks with some extremely convincing results.

The class had to develop an argument in response to the following topics:

• There are many suitable role models for young adults. Explain who you think that may be.
• Schools should send students on yearly excursions
• Violent video games should be banned.
• Pets should be allowed at school.
• School uniforms should not be mandatory.
• A topic of your own choice that has been approved by your classroom teacher

They had to complete a 300-word written plan. They then had to create a poster, Google Slipes, Power Point or a short video to make their case using techniques like humour, appeal to emotions, assertive languages and facts.
