Under 15s Fight Hard in Wagga for Country Cup

Although our Under 15s boys fought hard at the Country Cup on Friday, it unfortunately wasn’t enough to get them to the next round of the comp.

Wade’s first match at Wagga Wagga’s Paramore Park was against traditionally strong rugby school Kildare Catholic College. Kildare lived up to their reputation and managed to get a 22 – 12 win on our boys. Unfortunately, an 18 – 15 win against West Wyalong shortly afterwards wasn’t enough to put the boys through to the next round.

Xavier Favero was the school’s biggest try scorer on the day, making a total of 4 tries. Alex Soane’s hard runs made him a marked man, with rival coaches singling him out as a threat on the field.

“The boys came up against some really strong opponents at the Riverina Finals,” recounts coach Daniel Bozic, “They gave it their best and they managed one win and one loss. There’s definitely a lot of potential on the team that we can work on for next season.”
