Wade Fight Hard In First Round of Buchan Shield

Yesterday, our boys under 15 rugby union team fought hard in the Buchan Shield at Yanco Ag.

The first match against Leeton was tight up until the half time whistle sounded. Leeton, however, were a big, fast team well versed in the rules of the game and ended up coming out on top in the second half. Wade lost 41 - 12.

Our boys redeemed themselves in the second match against Yanco, winning 35 – 14. Alex Soane scored what may be the try of the year, running through almost every played on the opposing team.

Jack Jasnos was quick on his feet in fullback and Joel Favero had 100% kicking accuracy off the tee. Jacob Goode’s leadership, charisma and determination was also instrumental in the team’s performance.

“I’m proud of the boys for showing a strong ability to learn new rules and tactics,” beams coach Daniel Bozic, “It was a tough day of rugby, with many of our boys getting knocked down, but they kept fighting and always got back up into the contest.”
