Wade Girls Soccer Win First Match of Season

The Wade open girls soccer team put on an impressive show of force today, crushing Deniliquin 13 – 1.

The match kicked off just after recess on the Wade home ground. Within the first two minutes, Wade scored their first goal. The game swung in Deniliquin’s favour for the next ten minutes, with the visitors dominating possession of the ball. Despite Deni’s control of the ball, however, they failed score.

Wade regrouped and once they had sorted out their offence, the game was theirs. Zianna Zuccato’s ferocious and relentless attack, Abbey Farrell’s formidable defence and Mele Tuitufu’s hard work in goal proved too much for Deni.

“The whole team were fantastic!” exclaims team manager Brooke Gilmour, “Everyone had a part to play and they all chipped in and did their bit!”

The girls will play their next match early next term against Griffith. The winner will then go on to play Narrandera. Good luck girls!
