Year 12 Join The Blue Tree Project

Blue Tree Project

Our Year 12s decided to put in a huge effort for one last fundraiser. The seniors decided to raise money for both the Griffith Safe Haven and participate in the Blue Tree Project.

Staff and students could wear blue for a gold coin donation. They also fired up the barbeques and ovens for a sausage sizzle and bake sale over lunch. Over recess, the team decided to participate in the Blue Tree Program, painting a tree in the ag plot a bright hue of ultramarine.

The Blue Tree Project asks people to come together to paint a tree. This act of community is a great way for people to bond and to check in with each other. The finished blue tree stands as a reminder of the importance of mental health.

The funds raised from the day will go towards the Griffith Safe Haven. The Safe Haven offers a warm and welcoming space for people experiencing crisis, suicidality or mental health issues. It is an alternative to attending the Emergency Departments and is open between 2pm and 9pm Friday to Sunday.
