Four Wade Teams Take On Wagga Netball Tournament

Netball

Wade sent four teams to the second round of the Netball NSW Cup Competition in Wagga on Tuesday.

Our 7/8 boys had a tough start to the day, gradually improving throughout the tournament. The boys were paired up against Hennessey twice, taking a loss to them in the first game and then redeeming themselves with a win in their second. The team came 4th overall in the day after beating MRHS – Griffith by one point in their final match for the day.

Our 9/10 boys fared somewhat better, with the team getting all the way to the semi-finals and ultimately also coming 4th. Cruz Morrissey was an unstoppable force in centre and Ajay Chilby and Tyler Minari were formidable in defence.

The 9/10 girls had a good day overall, also making it to the semi-finals and coming 4th overall too. Megan Callcut and Chelsey Carter were strong on the court, taking turns playing centre. Matilda Poole was tenacious in attack and defence and Mackenzie Hassan was on fire in GS.

The 7/8 girls meanwhile had some tough games against some very stiff competition, also making it to the semi-final but in this case winning and coming 3rd overall in the competition. Layla Codemo was a force to be reckoned with in centre and on the wings and Tess Jamieson had a great day in attack and centre court.

Well done to all of our teams and a huge thank you to Jessy McRae, Maddy Murdoch and Corinne Poole for making the trip possible!
