Year 10 photography went to capture the natural beauty of Scenic Hill earlier this term.
The class have been studying environment and place in class and decided to put their theory into practice. Following in the footsteps of landscape photographer Steven Shaw and close-range photographer Aaron Siskind, the Year 10s headed to the hills.
Some of the students decided to concentrate on the natural beauty of the hill while others decided to focus on the human impact on the tourist destination. Others still decided to explore Scenic Hill’s cultural history and their personal relationship with the landmark.
“There were some great close-up shots among the submissions,” explains photography teacher Angela Stoll, “There was also a blue tongue lizard who was a pretty popular subject for the kids.”
The class will now move onto explore still life in the vane of photographer Laura Letinsky through to the end of the term.
