On Monday, we sent our mixed netball team to the Equex courts in Wagga Wagga to compete in the Fast 5 Netball Comp.
The day opened with a loss to Riverina Christian College which only made our team more determined to win. They followed up with a string of victories against Tumbarumba, Riverina Anglican College and St Pauls, qualifying them for the finals against Mater Dei College.
A win against Mater Dei allowed the team to replay Riverina Christian College once again in the finals. This time, they brought their a-game and managed to take the day.
Matilda Poole was unstoppable in goal attack and was responsible for many of the bonus points scored in the super round halves. Beau-Scott Cooper rallied around the team in centre court and was extremely energetic throughout the comp.
“They were an outstanding team who showed excellent sportsmanship, ability and composure even when the day got hot and the game got tough,” explains coach Maddy Murdoch, “Most of all, they were very appreciative of a fun day away to play sport.”
