Our students have made native hibiscus flowers and arranged them into the words ‘Now’ and ‘Next’ to celebrate the theme of this year’s Reconciliation Week “Bridging Now to Next”.
The native hibiscus flower is a significant symbol for Aboriginal Australians. The purple flower was chosen by the Kimberly Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation as a reminder of the mistreatment of Indigenous Australians. It was selected because of its resilience, its association with compassion and healing and it’s widespread presence in Australia.
Thank you to the students and staff who participated in this project.
