Year 11 English Advanced have been trying their hand at creative writing this term in their Read to Write unit.
The class have been studying extracts from Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and the short story All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury. They then had to isolate themes and ideas from these texts to explore in their own work.
The aim of the unit was to improve the students’ control of language and improve the sophistication of their own literary techniques and devices. You can read some of their work below.
